A 550-feet long cemetery is quite a challenge to clean. The last photographic evidence of a clean-up at this cemetery was 1991. So 19 years later, the work is being done in three phases. Two future eagle scouts conducted extensive clean-ups in phases one and two - the first on a fine day in May 2009. The second clean-up, reported here, was done during frigid weather of January 2010. Unrecorded field stone grave markers were located and possible locations of lost markers were noted. Once there is a thaw, the lost markers might be found. The last third of the cemetery, where African Americans are buried, awaits the next Eagle Scout project.
