    Accomplished Fauquier County Cemetery Preservationists – Larry & Lory Payne - presented their work in discovering and preserving historic graves and burial grounds throughout Fauquier County. They discussed how they research, help protect and save these fading historical treasures. Lory (notoriously skilled in divining or dowsing for grave sites) offered insights into her site discoveries.

    In April 2010, a cleanup project in the Day Family Cemetery, Vienna, was led by an Eagle Scout candidate. Approximately 20 scouts, leaders and volunteers cleared brush and cleaned markers.     The cemetery is located about 100′ southeast of the “Jackson House” at 1157 Swinks Mill Rd. in McLean. It is surrounded by a 100′x 50′ wooden fence.     In April 2010, the cemetery - located in Fountainhead Regional Park on Wolf Run Shoals Road - was found to be well maintained.
