In April 2010, a cleanup project in the Day Family Cemetery, Vienna, was led by an Eagle Scout candidate. Approximately 20 scouts, leaders and volunteers cleared brush and cleaned markers. Each marker took at least an hour to clean. All of the participants were amazed by the beauty of the markers and the symbolism discovered upon the markers. After finishing the cleaning, one volunteer stated it was like “night and day.” Pardon the pun.
