On Sunday, October 19th, 2008 the community gathered to remember John and Mary Marshall of Burke and dedicate their cemetery. Descendants, community residents, representatives of local businesses, boy scouts, county Supervisors and employees, and members of the Fairfax County Cemetery Preservation Association (FCCPA) celebrated the preservation of the cemetery. A trash-strewn, vandalized, overgrown area had been cleared and renewed. This successtion ceremony marked the beginning of cemetery preservation efforts by the Assocation.
