The Tombstone Repository is located behind the Prince William Governmental Center on Prince William Parkway. A short walk into the woods and up to a knoll brings the visitor to the repository.
These “orphan” markers from the 19th and 20th centuries have been placed here because their original location is unknown. Grave markers are aligned either vertically in the ground or placed on wooden platforms in front of a split rail fence. The Repository provides protection for the markers and a place where visitors might ponder about the lives of these Prince William residents.
