The cemetery, which was surveyed April 2010, is located in a small park belonging to the English Hills Home Owners Association. At the top of a slight hill, one finds what appear to be two cemeteries, side by side. One, which includes a commercial marker (Rose Simpson and Tyree Simpson) and field stone grave markers, is enclosed by a wrought iron fence. Outside of the fence is located another commercial marker for William and Ann Simpson, who are Rose’s parents, and several neat rows of field stone markers. Two earlier surveys indicate that there are between 20-50 unmarked graves outside the fence. The foliage and downed limbs, etc. make it difficult to locate all the unmarked graves.

William Simpson in 1860 was a farmer who had cattle and hogs and raised Indian corn. He voted for secession at the Arundell tavern, his cousin’s business. William was constable from 1856 to 1862.
When he died in 1868 at the age of 40, his cousin stated that William was over three thousand dollars in debt.

Rose Simpson, William and Ann’s daughter, married Tyree Harris Simpson on November 29, 1883. In the 1900 census, Rose Simpson is listed as head of the household, no occupation, living with her two school age sons William J. and Somerfield S. Her mother Ann is listed as living at the same house with occupation farmer. It is unknown what Tyree’s relationship was to the rest of the Simpsons.
