The cemetery was surveyed in August 2010 at the request of a neighbor. The cemetery is located in Lincolnia and surrounded by suburbia. In fact, the residential street, Bouffant Blvd., splits to go around the cemetery.

Neighborhood traditions relate that there are Native Americans and/or Civil War soldiers buried there.

The surveyor found no markers, field stones, or evidence of any burials. Census research found that in 1910 a Lemial (Lemual) T. Dowden and wife Annie lived in Fairfax County in the Falls Church District and operated a dairy farm. The 1920 Census locates the family with two sons 18 and 7 years of age still owning a dairy farm. Title and deed searches do not reveal any information about a cemetery. Yet, the developer left the area untouched as homes and streets were developed in the area. This may remain a mystery as to whether this area is a cemetery and if so who was buried there.
